Dr. Lucy Johnson completed her DDS degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2018, graduating with honors and winning the Dental Implant Student Award from the AAOMS. In 2019 she went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Johnson worked as a general dentist before returning to the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) at the University of Rochester to complete her post-graduate periodontal training.
During her periodontal residency, Dr. Johnson received several awards and recognitions. She was honored to be chosen as the chief resident of her department, and her research on the Effects of Anti-depressant Medications on Dental Implants was published in the respected Journal of Periodontology. She takes pride in presenting her research and clinical cases at national conferences, and her periodontal surgically-facilitated orthodontics case won the prestigious Graser Award at the 2024 American Association for Dental Research Conference. In addition to joining Dental Implants and Periodontal Health of Rochester, Dr. Johnson is returning to Eastman Institute for Oral Health as a teaching faculty in the Department of Periodontics, where she looks forward to training and mentoring future leaders in the specialty. Dr. Johnson is a member of several local and national dental, periodontal, and implantology organizations.
Outside the office, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with her husband and their Australian Shepherd dog Archie. She loves cooking, gardening and slalom water skiing on Lake Canandaigua.
